Ep 51: Designology by Sally Augustin

Welcome to The Hygge Planner Show Episode #51, today I’m reviewing Designology written by Sally Augustin

This month, I’m sharing a book that will delight all the interior designers/ decoration fashionistas/ as well as all the psychology major at University.

I’ve been recently involved in a huge amount of research (hello INFJ) about potential links between our personality and how we show ourselves to the world.

Pretty obvious when it comes to fashion and clothes… but what about our apartment, our house… I still remember asking my Mom the permission to redecorate my bedroom when I was 15 to match my taste.

I didn’t cover the walls with boys band posters though (yes, I’m old enough to have known those bands lol) Instead I rewrite a  lot of poems from Beaudelaire, Rimbaud, and Verlaine… Sticking them on my walls creating a more appealing room to me.

It’s also when I started to draw (with not a lot of results until I take courses recently to be honest)

→ which led me to ask if there’s a link between our natural personality and how we decorate our space to live.

→ Raise your coffee if you’ve ever visited a place where you feel totally uncomfortable without really knowing why (or, on the contrary, we may feel like at home in really weird places).

In this episode, I’ll discuss:

  • how I use that book to boost my inspiration
  • why this book may suit anyone (hint there’s a personality test inside)
  • why you don’t have to toss your furniture to get the most out of what you have.

It’s time to rewind:

I honestly really enjoy this reading. It’s straight to the point and, to me, it was a hit.

I see myself nodding at almost each sentence with “Oh, it makes sense”… “ Oh, that’s so true”… “Humm, interesting, I didn’t think about it that way.”
